In this method, this is a combined cupping technique. Starting with a dry cupping technique and placing cups at specific zones for a few minutes, this draws blood to the site but also creates a numbing sensation to the area. The wet cupping is introduced after dry cupping and involves the use of a sterile medical blade which is used to make superficial cuts to the surface of the skin where the cup had been placed. Then reapplying the cup and creating a negative pressure in the cup, allowing blood to be drawn up through the cuts. This purge of blood removes stagnant blood and toxins, it promotes inflammation and encourages blood flow.
